Welcome & sign-in

1234

With the FR8 Driver Assistant you handle your tours, report times, documents, accidents and breakdowns – and you can reach dispatch at any time by chat or phone.

The app belongs to a vehicle: you sign in for the vehicle, and everything you see – tours, fuel cards, service dates – belongs to that vehicle. If you drive as a team of two, you both see the same. Where it is about you personally, you choose your name.

How to sign in:

  1. 1 Scan QR code – point the camera at the code. The phone vibrates briefly when the code is recognised.
  2. 2 Vehicle login – with client number, vehicle name and PIN.
  3. 3 Driver login – with client number, login name and PIN. This is your personal access.

Your company gives you the QR code and login details. The QR codes in this booklet lead to the help, not to sign-in.

Tip

Use the globe 4 to change the language even before you sign in. Later you can do this under More → Language.

The first time you open the app, a short introduction shows you the app in one minute. You can watch it again at any time: More → Show introduction.

More about signing in

Vehicle login with Customer number, Vehicle name and PIN

With QR code

  • The first time, the phone asks whether the app may use the camera – allow it.
  • Point the camera at the code. Once it is recognised, the phone vibrates briefly and shows QR code recognized, below it Signing in …. You can put the phone down now.
  • If scanning does not work, there is a field Enter token manually below the camera image. If your company sent you the access as text or a link, paste it there and tap Sign in.
  • If you scan a QR code from the handbook by mistake, the app says: "This is a QR code from the handbook – you can't sign in with it." The camera stays on. Help with signing in opens this page of the online help.

With login details

For Vehicle login and Driver login you fill in all three fields and tap Sign in. If a field is missing, the app shows "Please fill in all fields."

Only with Driver login does the app know exactly who is using it. That is why the introduction starts by itself there the very first time.

Sign-in does not work?

  • If something is wrong, the app tells you that sign-in failed. Check the client number, vehicle name or login name, and PIN.
  • After too many failed attempts, sign-in is blocked for a few minutes. The app tells you how long.
  • If the QR code is no longer valid, get a new one from your company.
  • If the app says the installation could not be confirmed: update the app in the App Store or on Google Play and try again.
  • If there is a connection problem, try again later.

Language and notifications

The globe on the sign-in page lets you choose from all languages the app knows. After you sign in, More → Language only shows the languages your company has enabled.

After the first sign-in, the app asks whether it may send you notifications. Tap Enable notifications and allow them in the phone's next window – otherwise you will miss new tours and messages from dispatch. With Maybe later you can do this later, see Settings, offline & sign-out.

The introduction

First step of the introduction: Home, with Next and Skip
Last step: More, with Done

The introduction shows you the app in six short steps: the home screen, the menu tiles (Reports & tasks) and the tabs Tours, Chat, Call and More. Each time the app highlights the place it is about.

  • Next takes you to the next step, Done ends the introduction.
  • Skip at the top right stops it at any time.

When it appears:

  • With Driver login it starts by itself the first time.
  • After QR code or Vehicle login, the home screen offers it: New here? – with Show me or Not now.
  • At any time via More → Show introduction. The app then jumps to the home screen and starts from the beginning.
